An MLK Day of Fun, Community,
and Service
Celebrate the power of youth leadership
by volunteering at our annual Martin Luther King, Jr.
Day Celebration -- "Change Our World 2004 -- Voices
of Inclusion" on Monday, Jaunary 19, 2004 at Northeastern
University.
The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ)'s
mission is to fight bias, bigotry, and racism in the
United States and to promote understanding and respect
among all races, religions, and cultures through advocacy,
conflict resolution, and education.
We need your help!
We are looking for 100 volunteers to help make MLK
Day 2004 a success! We need volunteers to help with
registration, crowd control, stage assistance, and workshop
support and more. Volunteers will need to arrive at
the Curry Student Center by 7:30am.

Number of Participants: 1,500-2,000 (Youth & Adults)
Description: Multicultural celebration focusing on
the power of youth leadership with the theme "Change
Our World – Voices of Inclusion, a theme taken from
Dr. King's concept of "the Beloved Community".
The first half of the day will be comprised of multiple
activities, for various age groups. The second half
of the day will be a convening of all participants with
entertainment, a keynote speaker, and reflection.
The morning's activities will include:
Multicultural arts and crafts for children ages 6-12
Symposium on race for college students
Forums/Workshops for high-school & middle school
age students
The afternoon's activities will include:
Keynote Address
Youth choir(s)
Step troop(s)
Poetry readings
Singing & Dance
